As early as 1854, in the village of Bóbrka near Krosno, in the Podkapacie region, three men, Ignacy Lukasiewicz and his associates Karol Klobassa and Tytus Trzecieski, established the first company engaged in exploration, extraction and processing of crude oil. Since early days of the oil industry, Krosno hosted its managing institutions. In 1924, the Galician Association of Petroleum Industry established in Krosno a management for the West Oil Basin. It was re-established after World War II taking advantage of the structures that survived the war.

The first post-war institution to manage the sub-Carpathian oil industry was established in 1944 Krosno. From it, as a result of numerous reorganizations, a number of independent entities has evolved, engaged in exploration, exploitation and processing of crude oil and natural gas.
Being one of them, ZRG Krosno is heir to the 150-year tradition of the Polish oil industry. The present structure of the company is the result of previous reorganizations which allowed, in the end, to create a service company engaged in oil field services. In 2001, ZRG Krosno discontinued its oil and natural gas production operation focusing on the provision of well services. In 2005, the company was transformed into a commercial law company with limited liability. |
